Interesting twist to Virtual Reality Wars. Samsung offering free Samsung Gear with Galaxy S7 preorder

With the competitors coming in at very high prices ($600 for the Oculus Rift, $800 for the HTC Vive).. Samsung’s Gear VR already had a pretty sweet deal going on (being $100). But they’ve come up with an even better price. Zero.

Now, the Gear VR is not as powerful as either the Rift or the Vive, considering it uses the Samsung phones for its processing and screen, but the news that folks who pre-order the new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge by March 18th will get the Gear VR free.. well.. this makes VR a hell of a lot more affordable.
