Ubisoft announced plans for the upcoming release of Tom Clancy’s The Division. The core details is basically that preloading will begin at 9 AM today (March 3rd), there will be no “head start” usually given to reviewers to allow them to get reviews up right at the game’s release.
Mobile game producer Gameloft and PC behemoth Ubisoft have both announced plans to fight a hostile takeover by Vivendi, the French conglomerate. We discussed these takeover attempts before here on An8BitMind, but to no one’s surprise, Gamesoft and Ubisoft are coming out swinging.
GamesIndustry has an article out about moves from Vivendi, which you may remember recently divested itself of Activision/Blizzard stock. They’ve crossed the 30% shareholder platform, which in France means they have to submit a takeover bid for the remainder of the shares.

This might be the most shocking news of the year. There will be no new Mainline Assassin’s Creed in 2016.., as Ubisoft looks to see how they can pull the same type of game, but better out of new technologies.
Not sure what EA was trying to do here, yes, one of their studios is named “Ghost”, but if you ask gamers what the Ghost means, usually you think of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon.
Vivendi has sold its remaining shares in Activision/Blizzard to an unknown buyer. The deal, ($1.1 Billion for 5.7% of the company) comes after seeing the stock grow 85% in the last year. Big move.. but it’s not the end of Vivendi in the gaming business. Read more…
