News update 3/13

(Editorial Note: While I’m home and slowly getting better, only being able to really see out of one eye means updates will be slow for a day or two more. I’m trying to get some guest articles from my friends in the meantime) With all that said and done, here’s a quick look at the news:

We talked a few weeks ago about the 7th Sea 2nd Edition Kickstarter, which ends Sunday at Midnight eastern. Holy cow, has it gone big. They have not only broken the previous record for pen and paper role playing games, but SHATTERED it. The previous record (belonging to Mage: The Ascension’s 20th Anniversary Edition) was a little over $684,000. With most of the final day surge ahead, the 7th Sea kickstarter has hit a mindblowing total (as of the time of writing of nearly $1.2 MILLION). You can see the last day status of the Kickstarter (and pledge) at the 7th Sea Kickstarter page.

Man, CD PROJEKT RED is going HARD on Cyberpunk 2077. They announced that the game is going to be so big, they’ve doubled their staff (that made The Witcher 3), and it’s amazing how much hype is being sent. I almost have to keep my expectations in check. The Witcher 3, was one of the biggest games of 2015, so what is a game meant to be “so much bigger” going to be like? Well, like you, I’ll have to wait till next year.

Rocket League. Basketball. Need I say more? Or should I just link you to the article about the announcement? Coming later this year, so no March Madness Rocket League style. Now if they just gave us Rocket League Football (and I mean American Football)

We’ll be seeing the Outer Rim expansion for Star Wars Battlefront next month. The expansion will cost $20.

And finally, Connor McGregor kicks Conan O’Brian’s ass. Thankfully, only in a video game.
